Take an old nursery rhyme, take the nouns and verbs out and replace with some awesome frugal article titles and you get the following Crazy Mad-Libs Inspired Festival of Frugality (if you want the traditional version of the festival, scroll down below). Went to the cupboard
To get cheap food at farmer’s markets her poor dog a bone;
But when she came there
The my big fat inanimate object was bare,
And so the poor dog had none.
She took a clean dish
To get the million dollar savings club kick off some tripe;
But when aldi supermarket: price sheet & store information came back
He was saving 50% on clothes a pipe.
She went to the grocer’s
To buy free steps to start the journey out of debt some fruit;
But when she came back
He was playing the flute.
She’s going underground – shelter part three to the baker’s
To save money on gas him some bread;
But when frugal cooks came back
The poor newspapers and magazines for free was dead.
She’s retiring on your student loan to the undertaker’s
To are gas prices eating up your dining out budget him a coffin;
But when free stuff for the designated driver came back
The poor status symbols and keeping up with the Joneses is stupid was laughing.
She how I saved hundreds per month to the hatter’s
To reduce peak electrical usage him a hat;
But when free boxes for shipping via USPS came back
He was using fatwallet cash back when buying online the cat.
The war of the off brand sodas made a curtsey,
The frugal kitchen made a bow;
The dame said, “Your servant.”
