The great news is that it appears that Beks will be paying off her debt in the next few months which means it will soon be time to pass Blogging Away Debt to a new blogger. For those that have not been following this blog from the beginning, the blog was originally started by Tricia. When she paid off her debt, the blog was passed onto Beks. It has always been planned that when Beks paid off her debt, it would be passed onto another person that was in debt that was interested in writing about their attempt to get out from under it and this process will continue as each blogger pays off their debt.
That means that we need to find a new blogger to take over this blog when Beks finally pays off her debt. There is no need to have any blogging experience in the past, but it is essential that you are a competent writer, can write 3+ posts per week and you are willing to share the trials and tribulations that go along with paying off your debt. We are not looking for someone that has all the answers, but someone that is in the process of trying to get their finances in order and is willing to share their thought process whether that ends up being right or wrong.
There will be some compensation for this position although it won’t be a lot. If you think that you could do an excellent job taking over this blog, please feel free to contact us and we’ll give you more specific information, ask a few questions and request a couple of writing samples.
We will be accepting application until January 15th

I’m looking forward to meeting the new blogger!
(Can we have an update from Tricia, too?)
I’m looking forward to meeting the next blogger! It has been pretty amazing that now almost two bloggers have blogged away their debt π
@ CanadianKate – perhaps closer to the switchover I will give an update. I gave updates for a while, but it felt weird to me since it’s Bek’s story now. I’ve been happy following her progress and “hanging out”. Now that the payoff date is getting closer – I better get started with writing an update!!
P.S. It’s always nice to see familiar names in the comments π I doubt I’ll ever forget those of you who helped us along our journey.
Great to hear from you Tricia! Can’t wait to hear how you are doing.
Is there an email address I can just send inquiries to? I don’t use outlook.
Yes: info@savingadvice.com
What a great idea!!!
I paid my debt, but I continued writing my blog as I started to give classes about money management.
I hope the next blogger is as good as Beks…
Really great to hear from you Tricia! I for one look forward to your update. I have been reading this blog since you began it and its always been a point of inspiration to keep pressing into our snowball.
I would be interested in continuing to read blogs by Tricia and/or Beks, if they are available. Not necessarily on this site. Are there any?
@ Janelle – it makes me so happy to hear that this blog has been an inspiration. When I started it back in 2006 (I had to look that up – I can’t believe it’s been almost 6 years!), I had no idea it would help so many…including myself. Now to see it helping Beks, well, words cannot describe how it feels.
@ Debt-free Dan – I do not blog anywhere else. I’m not sure about Beks.
Hey, Tricia. Good to hear you are still alive and kicking!
I will responding to everyone that has emailed me this weekend
@ Jeffrey – Thanks! Look forward to hearing from you.
If anyone has that emailed me has not received an email back, it’s may be because your email is not accepting emails unless it’s from an approved email and my email bounced back to me (had several returned from this)
I haven’t been around much so I don’t know the history, but can you give it to multiple people? I think the more stories, the better.
@erika
We have considered that but decided it would get too confusing, especially for new people coming to the blog that didn’t understand what was going on. Since this is a very personal blog rather than an “article how to” blog, we decided that having one person at a time detailing what they are doing to get out of debt was the best formula.
*waving* HI TRICIA!!! I was thinking of you the other day. So glad to hear you are well. π
I’ve enjoyed reading these types of blogs so much. They’ve really been an inspiration to my in my own journey and helps to keep my encouraged and chugging along to debt freedom – I’ve even started my own blog, mostly to keep me accountable.
Thanks for the encouragement and I can’t wait to “meet” the new blogger.
