Consistently since I have blogged here, commenters have pointed out my large monthly expenditure on phone service. And I am proud to say I have finally taken action and made some cuts.
Thusfar, I have cut $75 monthly service fee. In addition, History Buff is now paying $30 per month for this phone (that is included in that bill.)
So I’m not sure of the new monthly fee total (all the fees and taxes make it challenging to get a good estimate.) But I’m going to LOVE seeing that bill be below $200.
Woot, woot! Another bill strikes the dust…good thing too, since it’s just in time for our new BRACES!

Yay!!! I know how you feel – I recently got my cable/internet bill cut in half from $200 to $100. And it is FRUSTRATING to get any clear pricing on the different packages! They really should list upfront what each package/service costs AND the associated taxes and fees.
Maybe I’ll write to my Congresswoman….
Ugh! I spent an hour last week dealing with all this…and then had to call again yesterday because they still didn’t get it right. It was very frustrating and I still don’t know what my new numbers will be.
You are right, there is not reason they shouldn’t be able to just post true prices. Very frustrating. I’ll write to my congress person too!
Sometimes it’s SO hard to make yourself take the time to make the call(s) – even when you know it will save you money! Now that my husband & I are married and both of our cell phone contracts are up, we need to see about consolidating them into one bill, which I’m sure would save us money, but there just seems to be other issues that take precedence. His house is now under contract (YAY!) (he moved into mine) so I think that will be the catalyst to make other changes we’ve been putting off.
Can you tell us what you did to save money – switch providers, change plans, etc.?
Good job!
I need to do this. Switch from ATT to SPRINT and save 80.00,,,
